Mid-November in Singapore: Cats, My Chemical Romance and the Writers Festival
From 29 October to 22 November the calendar stacks up: Cats at the Sands Theatre, My Chemical Romance and Joe Hisaishi in the same week, Deepavali in Little India, and the 29th Singapore Writers Festival in the Civic District.
The next few weeks are the densest stretch of Singapore's autumn. It starts with a musical: Cats plays the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands from 29 October to 15 November 2026, with tickets from S$68 sold through Marina Bay Sands.
One week, three rooms
My Chemical Romance play two nights at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, 10 and 11 November 2026, rescheduled from the original April 2026 dates, with tickets via SISTIC at S$128 to S$408. Two nights later, Joe Hisaishi conducts the World Dream Tour at the Esplanade Concert Hall, 12 and 13 November, tickets via SISTIC at S$88 to S$558. Arena rock and a concert hall in the same week is a very Singapore piece of scheduling, and both rooms are an MRT ride apart.
The festival dates, and the one tentative date
Deepavali falls on 8 November 2026, a gazetted public holiday, and centres on the Serangoon Road light-up in Little India. The light-up's own switch-on and closing dates had not been published when the record was checked, so Deepavali in Little India is carried as a tentative date, dated to the festival day itself and labelled as tentative on its page. The Singapore Writers Festival is confirmed: its 29th edition runs 13 to 22 November 2026, organised by Arts House Group and themed Hidden in Plain Sight, with the programme centred on The Arts House and other Civic District venues. The organiser's announcement puts more than 300 writers, speakers and moderators across over 200 programmes, and entry mixes free events with ticketed programmes and a festival pass.
