Christmas Wonderland and the Bay at Christmas

Singapore's Christmas season gathers around one waterfront: the Christmas Train Show opens inside the Flower Dome on 20 November, Christmas Wonderland takes over the Supertree Grove for the evenings, and the Orchard Road light-up runs across town as the second act. What is confirmed, what is still tentative, and how to order the nights.

Christmas in Singapore is a season of evenings, and most of them happen within a short walk of Marina Bay. Gardens by the Bay carries the centre of it: a daytime show inside the Flower Dome, a ticketed fair under the Supertrees after dark, and the bay itself lit around both. This planner works through the season in the order the dates open, and it is honest about the two records that are still tentative, because at the time of writing their organisers had not published 2026 dates.

First, the trains: the Flower Dome from 20 November

The confirmed start of the season is the Christmas Train Show, back in the Flower Dome for its third edition from 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, open 9am to 9pm with last admission at 8.30pm. Model trains loop through botanical models of railway stations from the American coasts and heartlands, then through a Singapore section that is bigger this year: two SMRT trains run past MRT stations reimagined by architecture students from the National University of Singapore. The last stop is a snowy Rovaniemi, Santa Claus's official hometown in Finland. There is no separate ticket: entry rides on Flower Dome admission, S$12 for a resident adult and S$8 for children aged 3 to 12 and for seniors. Bayfront station, Exit B, is the way in.

Then the fair: Christmas Wonderland, dates still tentative

Christmas Wonderland fills the Supertree Grove and The Meadow with light sculptures, a festive market along Mistletoe Alley, carnival rides and Blizzard Time, the nightly fall of foam snow that follows the Garden Rhapsody show in the grove. The 20 metre Spalliera, a Gothic-inspired light structure, stands at its centre. The organiser had not announced the 2026 edition's dates when this site checked, so the event page carries them as tentative: a Trip.com listing for the 2026 edition points to 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with evening sessions from 6.30pm and tickets from about S$9. Treat the shape as settled and the exact first night as unconfirmed until the organiser publishes. The practical advice holds either way: pair a Flower Dome afternoon with a Wonderland evening, and pick a weekday in the first half of the run if you want the market at walking pace.

The second act: Orchard Road

Across town, the Orchard Road Christmas Light-Up, Christmas on a Great Street, dresses the shopping belt from Tanglin to Dhoby Ghaut. The Orchard Road Business Association had not published the 2026 switch-on date when the record was checked, so this page also carries the light-up as tentative, following its unbroken annual pattern: a mid November switch-on, lights through to New Year, and free to walk. Christmas villages and a Christmas Eve street party have featured in recent editions. Orchard works best as the early evening act, dinner on the belt and the lights after, leaving the bay for a separate night rather than trying to chain both.

The island version: Season of Joy on Sentosa

The one festive programme with every date confirmed is on Sentosa. Season of Joy runs at Resorts World Sentosa from 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with a Korean wave theme: Glowcean Wonderland inside Singapore Oceanarium, A Universal Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore, K-Wave Christmas at Adventure Cove Waterpark and the Colours of our Wishes installation at WEAVE. The resort's public spaces are free to enter; the attractions are ticketed separately. It is the family heavy alternative to the bay, and the two split a long weekend comfortably.

Seeing the season from above

Between the two acts, the Singapore Flyer gives the season its viewpoint: a 30 minute rotation, 165 metres over the bay, with the lit waterfront on one side and the city on the other. A dusk rotation, timed to end as the grove lights come on, is the calm way to open a Wonderland evening.
